Inclusion in a cashless society
“In an increasingly cashless society how can we ensure payments are accessible to everyone so they can pay, be paid, simply and securely everywhere?”
The Brief
Only a quarter of people living in Sweden say they use cash at least once a week and a boom in mobile, card and online payments has resulted in the proportion of cash transactions in the retail sector dropping from around 40% to 15% today according to the central bank.
With Sweden’s rush to embrace digital payments being frequently flagged as an example of the Nordic nations innovation, the pace of change poses challenges for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and other groups that may not have access to, or be able to use digital payments.
Submissions will be limited to teams that include at least one female member, ideally at executive board level.
