Job Description and Responsibilities

Team Summary 
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability.  Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.

The team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, fraud risk management and digital strategy.        

Junior Consultant (Analyst level)

The Analyst will sit within VCA’s Digital practice work on a broad range of consulting engagements for Visa clients in Visa’s Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific region, enabling portfolio growth and improved profitability in clients’ payment card businesses.

Typically 2-4 months in duration and running in parallel, potential projects could include assessments of digital product and marketing strategies, experience design, product design and launch, optimisation of client customer experience and supporting processes.  

The Analyst will be responsible for supporting components of client engagements. Typically, this will involve interacting with the project team (including Visa and clients), project management, conducting customer interviews, synthesizing the output, insight generation, ability to create UX/UI mock-ups and visual design, helping to create high-quality project outputs and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of client proposals and project plans, identifying dependencies, roles and responsibilities, scope and deliverables
  • Conduct and/or support in-depth market testing using various qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Take part in the planning and execution of creative workshops clients. Then synthesize insights into defensible visions, frameworks, and concepts using human-centered design
  • Identify user needs and translate business goal into recommendations for product and/or service, including Visa’s capabilities where appropriate
  • Rapidly convert ideas into detailed storyboards, mockups, and working prototypes, meshing-together solutions/capabilities that exist within Visa or externally.
  • Energize and improve the status quo using creativity and intelligent calculated risks to deliver new products and processes that surpass clients’ expectations, demonstrating new methods, capabilities, and mindsets.

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate

Has 2-3 years of fulltime work experience, have a strong foundation of UX/UI design principles, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record of delivery. We are looking for someone who is curious and hands-on, and wants to gain more experience of the payments industry, management consulting, working alongside innovative thinkers and strategic problem solvers who are as analytical as they are creative.

Specific skills and experience you will bring are:

  • Knowledge of design thinking and strategic problem-solving
  • Strong fluency in digital design software including Figma, FigJam, and Adobe products
  • Knowledgeable in human centered design thinking, UX/UI principles, service design, and user research
  • Experience in UX/UI Visual Design, to create mockups and visual designs
  • Customer Insights/Research: Foundational knowledge of conducting customer interviews, synthesis, and insight generation.
  • Strong communication skills. Able to clearly articulate ideas and design decisions to a variety of audiences and stakeholders
  • Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
  • Able to collaborate with business partners and build upon their vision using sound design principles
  • thorough, methodical, and exhibits an extreme attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Experience working in design consultancies, digital product teams, or established startups which gives you a sense of how to interact with clients and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
